Both! ARIE is an evolving, creative playground, where you can learn exciting new techniques and be continuously inspired by our world-renowned artists. Whether you’re brand new to abstract art, or an established artist - you’ll find something to add to your self-expression toolbox (and be able to adapt it to the level you’re at).

Each course has a supply list attached. But to start you’ll just need something to paint on, and something to paint with. The great thing about abstract art is that there are no rules. There’s no supplies you have to have. As you continue your art journey, you’ll learn which supplies you love - and which you can live without. A good starting place is some pre-stretched canvases to paint on, acrylic paint in a few basic colors, and a few brushes to paint with.

Definitely. Although we may give a recommended list of supplies, you’re always free to adapt it to what you already have (with the exception of some more specialized techniques or materials). If you can’t source some of the supplies we’ve recommended, feel free to experiment – you never know, you may discover a whole new technique of your own!

No! Our artists will teach you to get creative with household items, and how to not break the bank. The wonderful thing about abstract art is that it’s all about self-expression, and self-expression can be free99. As you progress in your practice, you may choose to invest in professional-standard materials (especially if you intend to sell your work), but it really isn’t necessary.

ARIE is an evolving learning platform that explores new materials and techniques every month – including materials such as acrylic paint, oil paint, mixed media, inks, and techniques such as layering, composition, airbrushing, and collage.

No studio? No problem. We believe that art is everywhere – even on the kitchen table. So long as you’re creating, make the space you have work for you.

Join the club! Despite what you see on Instagram, creating art doesn’t always mean creating something you love. The creative process is a journey, and that journey is full of trial and error. Although the discomfort of disliking what you create is an unavoidable part of art-making, we’ll help you shift your mindset so that frustration becomes an incredibly powerful source of inspiration.
